The Iraqi Organization for Development and Environmental Advancement held a lecture at the Martyr Al-Sadr Cultural Forum, on the occasion of the International Day to Combat Sand and Dust Storms, and in conjunction with the preparations for this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The lecture was titled *"Protecting the Visitor in Light of Environmental Challenges"* and was delivered by Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein. He discussed the most prominent environmental risks that may accompany the season of mass pilgrimages, particularly sand and dust storms, and their effects on the health of pilgrims.
He also presented a set of preventive measures and recommendations aimed at reducing the impact of environmental challenges, stressing the importance of spreading environmental awareness and promoting a culture of prevention. This, he noted, contributes to providing a safer environment for visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
